My name is Mark Barrows and I am a retired carpenter (and jack of several other trades), a canoe traveler, and more recently a student of experimental archaeology and material culture.
I am also a member of the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) where I am known as Seamus na Coille Aosda. In this blog which is aimed primarily at an SCA audience, I will share my interests, projects and research which include the history and material culture of early medieval Ireland, period woodworking, the skills and crafts of the medieval farm and forest, log boats and pottery.
